Cyber Threat

Cyber Threat
Cyber threat is any such act which can result in an undesirable incident that could cause harm to your computer activities. For example, your computer becoming unusable, your computer files being deleted or you information being stolen, etc.

Cyber Threat can impact your personal information, your computer equipment, your online reputation and even your personal safety.

Some examples of cyber threats could be viruses, worms, spam emails, online frauds and hackers.

1.    Trojan Horse -A Trojan horse is a version of virus which, unlike a computer virus, does not attempt to inject itself into other files. Instead, a Trojan horse is

programmed to deceive the user by appearing to be a genuine file (like an image or video or a software utility). However, when used, it performs other malicious activities like make copies of itself, steal information, or harm their host computer systems. Trojans sometimes access personal information like email address , credit card number stored locally at home or business computers, then sends these data to a remote party via the internet.

2.    WORMS Worm is a software program that actively transmits itself over a network to infect other computers but unlike a virus, it has the capability to travel without any human action. A worm is similar to a virus by design and is considered to be a sub-class of a virus which utilizes file or information transport protocols on the system, which is what allows worms to travel unaided.

3.    Spyware- Spyware includes software programs that are installed on your computer to steal information from your computer on an ongoing basis without your knowledge. Hackers may install key logger software which will be able to track and report to the hackers all the key strokes you make on your computer.

WAY  TO  N  IDEA-  TO BE SAFE FROM HACKERS, DON’T INSTAL L SOFTWARE PROGRAMS DOWNLOAD FROM INTERNET OTHER THAN THE BEST ONES LIKE- FILEHIPPO.COM, SOFTONIC.COM, FILEHORSE.COM, ETC.  HACKERS MAY INSTALL KEY LOGGER SOFTWARE WHICH WILL BE ABLE TRACK AND REPORT TO THE HACKERS ALL THE KEY STROKES YOU MAKE ON YOUR COMPUTER, SO OTHER IDEA IS THAT WHENEVER YOU SIGN IN YOUR EMAIL ID OR COMPUTER, WHEN IT CAMES THE TIME TO TYPE PASSWORD, TYPE SOME STARTING WORDS AND THAN CLEAR IT ALL, AFTER ALL TYPE THE WHOLE PASSWORD. FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOUR EMAIL ID PASSWORD IS- “APP@1000”, THEN FIRST OF ALL TYPE APP@, THAN CLEAR IT, THAN TYPE WHOLE PASSWORD. THIS WILL RESULT AS KEY STROKE SOFTWARE SENDED BY HACKER WILL STORE KEY STROKE AS- AAP@APP@1000 AND THE HACKER WILL CONFUSE. THIS METHOD WILL DECREASE THE CHANCE OF HACKING OF YOUR EMAIL ID.

4.    Adware-Adware is short form for advertising supported software. It is a software program that automatically brings up advertisements in the form pop-ups. The objective of adware is to lure you to click on the advertisement. Every time you click on the advertisement it helps generate revenue for the author of the advertisement in what is called a pay for click advertisement model. Mostly adware is annoying but other than that it is harmless.

5.    Spam-Most of us use email. You may have seen unwanted emails that come to you promoting some products. Some of these products or services may be genuine, some may be fake. Also some of the spam messages are sent to lure you to take actions that may lead to other unwanted implications like downloading of malware on your computer. These unwanted messages by email or even by SMS are known as Spam.
